BLACK COAT

Samyak Ghosh

The black coat walks down your lane ...
Courting fragments of lip-stick dreams..
He rests at a corner , lights a cigarrete..
The lunatics parade alleys of the crunked city..

The black coat treads your opiated thoughts..
Indelible smoke patterns on the rose-tinted glass..
He stares blank at the jaundiced apartments..
The lunatics sneak in barrels for their mid-night orgies..

The black coat cast furtive glances at dozing dogs..
Red scarfs strangle lumps of frozen flesh...
He rummages the dustbins for the busker's tattered hat..
The lunatics make love to the burning effigies...

The black coat resumes his nightwalk..
Discarded syringes laugh at the gigolo tugging his shoes..
You revel in the cellophaned castle of your psychedelic world..
And the lunatics take over the lonely city....
